Apparently none of my collections are safe anymore, I've been saving bakelite buttons in a big old jar forever and now I'm stacking them too. There's something fulfilling about making stuff from junk I already have and shipping it off, little by little I'm riding myself of "collections" and just keeping my very favorite things. DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY
Well I've spent much of the day singing "Dude looks like a lady" loudly tho I really have no idea of the tune. I showed my son this new piece and sang the song and he laughed so hard I just keep doing it. I wish i knew the tune, that would be helpful.
"Dude" was created with a really cool retro glass and chrome? coffee pot, vintage bocce ball, old wooden game parts and old danish wooden candlestick legs. He/she stands 21 1/2" tall and has legs up to here. If i can sign the bottom of the candlesticks i will.

Mr Magic Cocktail

It's official my art/life is becoming unmanageable... I'm assembling things I need. This is when it becomes a sickness, no? I can see me sitting around with all these weird creatures and no fuctioning appliances, no bowls, cups...if I had a pooltable i'd be screwed for balls. Luckily I'm too poor to afford a pooltable.

Etsy lost my shop BOGO Sale
As anyone with a shop on Etsy knows these last couple weeks have been hell on sales. The search functions have gone haywire and newly listed items may not show up for days. Unless someone already knows about your shop and goes there there's no traffic. Many of my listings are nowhere to be found thru a search. I went from doing over $900. in sales (both etsy shops) last month to non-existent sales this month. It's scary and bad timing so I'm having a "Buy one get one free Etsy lost my shop Sale" on all earrings. I'm also offering free shipping on art that generally ships for $10. Free shipping on photos too. Just wait for a revised invoice. On earrings just "buy' the higher priced pair and email me with your free choice (or add it in the comments on the invoice.) Please don't actually buy the free pair. No limit on the bogo. Thanks for your help during this Etsy ate my listings Malfunction....

Egg Salad Sally
Egg Salad Sally was inspired by two hillbilly encounters I had yesterday. Truly I have no ill feelings toward these people but sometimes it's like being on another planet. The first was at the scrapyard, an old chevy van backed up next to me and started to unload a giant amount of rusty metal objects and gross old appliances. Along with all the metal out spilled two toddlers oblivious to the dangers of being barefoot in a scrapyard. Their smoking Mama didn't seem to notice either. This old copper stew pot came from that family, it has a forged rusty iron handle and some nice copper patina.
The second encounter was at the post office where an old hillbilly man who I developed a crush on was asked the usual "anything liquid,fragile or hazardous question?" and he replied "That there's just a big ol box ah eggsalad." He thought his joke was pretty funny and continued to ramble on about the dangers of egg salad in the mail, spoilage and all.

Irma
Irma is all curvy woman, she and Rachel were inspired by "maids" my family had when I was little. They were large woman who wore support hose that their thighs bulged out of the top of (see Rachel's legs) and they always watched "The Edge of Night" while ironing. I have fond memories of them in the house. Once me amy best friend got into big trouble with Rachel for eating an entire box of Aids dieting chocolates. I guess it was my mom's she was always dieting.... i guess that company had to change their name after the disease sprung up.

My son was kind enough to allow me to use the vintage croquet set we haven't used much. The balls are wonderful old painted wood, I got more excited about them than anyone should. Also thanks to two great etsy friends Lorimarsha and Aorta who sent me "junk" that ended up in these.
